Problem statement

THE STARTUP IS IN CROWDFUNDING MODE BUT WE NEED TO INCREASE OUR REVENUE STREAMS BY CREATING A SALES POINT

Punkzles concept: The concept was to release puzzle bundles featuring punk-inspired artists, a fresh take aimed at shaking up the puzzle market. To bring Punkzles to life, we strategically invested in three key platforms to connect with our audience: crowdfunding to build early excitement, our own online store to establish a dedicated space, and social media to foster engagement and grow our community.

Ideation

WE DREW INSPIRATION FROM 90S POSTERS AND SOME OF OUR PREVIOUS PUNK-ROCK BRANDING WORK TO INFORM THE WEBSITE’S DESIGN

While we prioritized wireframing for structure, we also focused on stylistic elements like torn paper textures, bold color injections, and a layered, collage-like aesthetic to bring energy and edge to the visual experience.

Wireframe

WE THEN CREATED MULTIPLE WIREFRAMES AND CONDUCT USER RESEARCH TO GAUGE PREFERENCES

The results, though unsurprising, were insightful: 80% of users preferred the logo featured within an artist’s banner as the header, while 70% felt it was important to spotlight the product bundle prominently. Additionally, we received enthusiastic feedback about incorporating an interactive element, such as a game or engaging newsletter article—users thought this would add a fun, memorable touch to the experience.

User research

WE PRESENTED A COUPLE WIREFRAMES AND BRANDING SCREENS TO 300 USERS

Their response was that they valued the punk rock header being the most prominent, as music lovers they thought the brand was very expressive. The second biggest learning was that the bundles and easy access to shopping on the home screen was crucial for them to make decisions. Finally, they loved the idea of incorporating a ‘fun’ interactive game of portion since they felt they connected even more with the brand and that would incentivize them to come back.

First steps

WE FINALLY MOVED ON TO DESIGNING STANDOUT ELEMENTS, AIMING FOR A COHESIVE LOOK THAT STILL FELT LAYERED AND DYNAMIC, MUCH LIKE OUR POSTER-INSPIRED COLLAGE CONCEPT

We began by creating individual, unique pieces, planning to assemble them later into a unified, visually striking composition. This approach allowed each element to stand out while contributing to an overall aesthetic that felt both curated and spontaneous.

Results

We created the ultimate punk-rock website! Once we linked our social media ads to the store, we saw sales skyrocket by about 3X. Placing the bundle prominently at the top of the page led to immediate sales and 3x our earnings, while the interactive games near the bottom drove user engagement and conversions to our social channels, strengthening our brand’s top-of-mind presence. Overall what we heard from our audience was that it brought legitimacy to the brand.

viral campaigns

We used TikToks as a way to reach new customers. Awareness and acquisition are main priority. We succeeded and some of our videos got 54K likes+
